Voyage to the sacred volcanic islands

The route exploring the east, Voyage to the Sacred Island, takes visitors to Ly Son Islands—a core area of LSSH Geopark. The route is bestowed with 30 interesting ecological and cultural sites. The Islands offer an open museum of volcanoes (Hang Cau, Gieng Tien Crater, Thoi Loi Crater) formed few millions to a few thousands of years ago, a period witnessing the dramatic rising and falling of the sea. The route shares touching stories of the Paracel Flotilla sailing offshore to set landmarks and protect sovereignty for the country, and also contains archaeological relics (Xom Oc, Suoi Chinh) of Sa Huynh people living on the island about 3,000 to 2,500 years ago. The islands are also home to abundant coral reefs, coral fossils, To Vo Arch (in land and underwater); and a special farming practice which produces a well-known garlic kingdom.
